The Joshua tree, Yucca brevifolia, is a monocotyledonous tree native to southwestern North America, in the states of California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada. The morning light on this tree in Joshua Tree National Park with the contrast of the unlighted rock wall behind it caught my attention.
